Simple Sauteed Kale

Bunch kale

Favourite oil for hot cooking

Garlic scapes/scape pesto/chopped garlic

lemon juice



Chop kale roughly, including stalks.

Heat oil in pan quite hot, drop garlic in briefly and toss in kale, stirring frequently until wilted (just a few mins)

Splash on some lemon juice and salt to taste and serve immediately.

Optional additions: dash of soy sauce; chopped fresh tomatoes (added near end just to warm); wedges of spring turnips (added with the kale)

This simple recipe is satisfyingly toothy yet tender. The lemon juice nicely balances the mild bitterness of the kale and takes less than 10 mins to prepare.
