Meat and Eggs from Traditional Foods

We've arranged to handle orders of meat through Traditional Foods - a group of small family farmers from the Old Order Mennonite tradition who grow beef, pork, lamb & chicken. The meat is not certified organic, but in many ways moves beyond the requirements of organic certification. All products are free of GMOs, hormones, antibiotics & all synthetic veterinary drugs. The livestock are fed natural feed (grass, hay, corn silage & other grains) along with organic mineral supplements to ensure that the meat is of particularly high nutrient value. They are raised humanely & processed in small abatoirs. Animals are at times fed grains which are not grown organically, which is one of the reasons the farms don't certify.

THE FIRST ORDER OF 2009 IS DUE SUNDAY MAY 9 & will be available for pick-up the following Tuesday May 12th 5-6:00 at 21 Guelph St. when you come for your CSA share. Payment due the day of delivery. The spring schedule is as follows:

We will be adding more vegetables to the order form as the weeks progress. Mike & Debbie have certified organic produce from their fields and greenhouses.

Please note that we're open to receiving orders from non-members, as long as they are able to pick their meat up at the scheduled times.

All orders must be paid for at pick-up.
