Farmer Angie started growing vegetables at Fertile Ground in 2008 with a wee 18 week CSA for 30 members. Since then, lots has changed, but much has stayed the same. We still use the same ecological farming methods and sell 100% locally in the Waterloo Region - mostly to our CSA members, but also to a few fabulous local restaurants and grocers. We still have a personal relationship with everyone who buys our food and we still do a LOT of our fieldwork by hand (too much!).   BUT.... we're proud of some evolution too:
● Our CSA now feeds over 300 households
● Our staff are all paid a Living Wage
● We feed people April-December
● We distribute over $12K of free produce annually
● We partner with Seeds of Diversity Canada to save rare seed
● We've become Farmer-Led Researchers
